OREM, UT — (Marketwire) — 05/26/09 — Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced that DaveRamsey.com, a leading financial education site, selected the Omniture Online Marketing Suite(TM) to improve its customer experience and achieved 579 percent total ROI.
Dave Ramsey is a nationally recognized personal finance expert who took his rapidly growing business online as DaveRamsey.com more than 10 years ago. The popular site offers visitors many financial tools and resources. The site was an early adopter of Web analytics, using a few basic tools to collect and examine data, but lacked a system to leverage it in an actionable way. The DaveRamsey.com Web team knew they were not maximizing the potential of their Web site and needed a more sophisticated solution.
“We saw an opportunity to optimize the experience for our customers seeking to better manage their finances and knew we needed a market-leading solution to do the job. After extensive research. we selected Omniture,” said Tony Bradshaw, VP of Internet Business and Technology for DaveRamsey.com. “Omniture helped us create a better and more relevant experience for our visitors and in the first full year using the Omniture Suite, we have achieved a 579 percent return on our total investment through increased conversions in the form of online store sales, financial course sign-ups and live event ticket sales.”
DaveRamsey.com first deployed Omniture SiteCatalyst® and Omniture Discover® to better measure online metrics and understand visitor activity and purchases of financial tools and tickets to live events. Dave Ramsey’s Live Events group conducts over 20 educational events each year, with 60 percent of ticket sales occurring on the Web site. Using Discover, Ramsey’s team found that only 10 percent of online visitors ever made it to the pages advertising tickets for an event in their area. This meant that opportunities existed to ensure visitors saw banners or links to events in their area. The Web team then used Omniture TestTarget(TM) to identify visitors by location and present them with a homepage banner about an upcoming Live Event in their market. Once a visitor clicked-through the event banner, the Web team used TestTarget to modify the subsequent pages shown and checkout process, to follow the local market theme. For visitors in an area without Live Events, Ramsey’s team replaced event banners and messaging with online-only product offers to ensure relevancy.
“Omniture TestTarget allowed us to localize the site to each visitor and present them with an integrated experience, from banner click to event checkout,” explained Bradshaw. “Displaying local event advertisements to the appropriate visitors has increased these ticket purchases by up to 75 percent in some markets in less than 60 days.”
